Social Work Profession Skills and Attitudes Evaluation Interview
Guidelines for the Evaluation of Skills and Attitudes of the Social Work Profession
1. The applicant must pass the writing examination as stipulated in Item 4 of The
Announcement of Sub-committee of Examination Arrangement and Examination System Development
regarding the Guidelines, Key Indicators and Procedures for Evaluating Knowledge for Registration and Licensing as a Licensed Social Worker, issued in accordance with the Social Work Professions Act B.E. 2556 (A.D. 2013) and B.E. 2567 (A.D. 2024), on 12th January 2024, as follows: (1) To pass the writing examination for
Social Work Principles, Philosophy, and Ethics Subject
, the applicant must attain at least 60 percent of the scores. (2) To pass the writing examination for
Social Work Practice Subject
, the applicants must attain an
average score of two subjects not lower than 65 percent
, and the score of each subject must not be lower than
50 percent
. 2. The applicant must submit the application form for Evaluation of Skills and Attitudes of Social Work Professions through Interview
(So Wo So Cho. 8 Application Form for Interview).
Required Documents for the Evaluation of Skills and Attitudes of Social Work Professions
1.
Supporting documents:
Applicants must submit a document demonstrating their social work skills and attitudes. This may include a summary of lessons learned from social work practice, social work internship, participating in social activities or social movement, or involvement in social work research. 2.
Content structure:
the document should be clearly organized into three parts as follows: 2.1
Introduction:
In this section, applicants should indicate the experience or practice from which the lessons learned were drawn, an analysis of problems and needs that need to be addressed by social work practice, and the scope of the work discussed in this document. 2.2
Body:
Applicants should explain their social work experience based on problems and the need discussed in the introduction by clearly showing their communication, skills and attitudes following to social work processes including fact finding, assessment, diagnosis, planning, implantation, monitoring, use of instruments, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and transfer; and (2.3)
Conclusion:
Applicants should conclude key lessons learned from the body section, together with the recommendations to enhance social work practice, and reflect on the strengthening of their professional development. 3. In the evaluation interview, applicants must
present their documents
. The presentation should highlight the connection of the content, delivering in clear, concise, and appropriate language, following the organized structure -introduction, body, and conclusion-, and using an academic referencing system.
Evaluation Criteria The criteria to evaluate applicants� social work skills and attitudes for registration and licensing as a licensed social worker are divided into four categories, with a total of 100 points. To pass the evaluation, each applicant must achieve at least 60 points. The Committee will evaluate each applicant in four categories as follows:
1. Skills of Social Work Practice (30 Scores)
such as 1.1 Relationship Building, 1.2 Communication, Listening, Observation, and Questioning, 1.3 Fact Finding, Analysis, and Evaluation, 1.4 Planning, Implementation, and Assistance Provision, 1.5 House Visit, 1.6 Counselling, 1.7 Note Taking, 1.8 Monitoring, Coordination, Transfer, and Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams, 1.9 Empowerment and Right Advocacy, 1.10 Building and Development of Working Network, 1.11 Problem Solving, 1.12 Case Management, and 1.13 Adaptation of Religious Principles, Beliefs, and Culture in Social Work.
2. Attitudes of Social Work (30 Scores)
such as 2.1 Non-Blaming or Judgment of service users or hastily making conclusions without complete supportive documents or information, 2.2 Respecting diversity such as sexual orientations, ages, religions, cultures, ethnicities, disabilities, and vulnerable groups, 2.3 Compassion, 2.4 Social Justice, 2.5 Respect human values and dignity, 2.6 Adherent to professional values, principles, ethics, and service provision standards, 2.7 Adherent to the participatory principle in working with individuals, families, communities, and multidisciplinary teams, and 2.8 Consider the best interests of service users.
3. Writing (20 Scores):
Applicants will be evaluated on their writing document, demonstrating their skills and attitude in social work. The evaluation is based on a clear writing structure, including introduction, body, and conclusion, and presents its lessons with clear, concise, comprehensive, and proper language.
4. Presentation (20 Scores):
Applicants must explain or analyze their presentation to highlight the connection and synchronization of the problem, needs, and social work practice they used in all three sections in a coherent and comprehensive manner.
The document for Social Work Skills and Attitudes Evaluation must be at least two, but not more than five A4 pages. The applicant must submit the document via e-mail: thaisocialworkcouncil @gmail.com, and by postal service to the Office of Social Work Professions Council.
